Plagiarism Policy

Bayan: Jurnal Studi Islam dan Humaniora is committed to upholding academic integrity and rejecting all forms of plagiarism in the scientific publication process. Any manuscript submitted to this journal must be the author's original work and free from plagiarism practices.

Plagiarism Check

  1. Any manuscript submitted to Bayan: Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities will be checked using a plagiarism detection device (e.g. Turnitin or similar device) as part of the editorial process.
  2. The examination is carried out at the initial stage of selection (desk review) and can be repeated at the revision stage if necessary.
  3. The acceptable similarity index is a maximum of 25%.
  4. Bibliography, correct direct citations, and general terms are not considered violations as long as they comply with the citation rules

Actions against Plagiarism Violations

If an indication of plagiarism is found, the editor will take the following steps according to the level of violation:

  1. A mild resemblance, the manuscript is returned to the author for correct correction and citation properly.
  2. Moderate to severe similarities, the manuscript was rejected and the author was given an official notification through the OJS system.
  3. Severe plagiarism or proven to be intentional, manuscripts are rejected or articles that have been published will be withdrawn (retraction).
  4. Authors can be sanctioned in the form of a ban on submitting manuscripts to journals within a certain period of time.

Author's Responsibilities

The author is solely responsible for the authenticity of the submitted manuscript. By submitting a manuscript to Bayan: Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities, the author states that:

  1. The manuscript is free from plagiarism.
  2. All sources have been cited correctly.
  3. The manuscript does not infringe on the copyright of another party.
