Archiving Policy
Bayan: Jurnal Studi Islam dan Humaniora is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of all scholarly content published in the journal. The journal implements a digital archiving policy to protect its published articles against data loss, technological changes, and other risks that may affect the availability of scholarly publications.
Digital preservation
To ensure the continued availability of published content, the journal employs the following digital preservation mechanisms:
- PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): The journal utilizes the PKP Preservation Network to create distributed preservation copies of published articles, ensuring long-term digital preservation and access.
- LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): The journal supports the LOCKSS system, which enables participating libraries and institutions to collect, preserve, and restore journal content when necessary.
- CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): Where available, the journal supports participation in the CLOCKSS preservation system as a secure and permanent digital archiving mechanism.
- Institutional and local backups: All journal files, metadata, and published articles are regularly backed up and stored on secure servers managed by the publisher.
Repository policy
Authors are permitted to deposit and archive the following versions of their manuscripts:
- Submitted version (preprint): Authors may deposit the preprint on personal websites, institutional repositories, or non-commercial preprint servers.
- Accepted version (postprint): Authors may archive the accepted manuscript in institutional repositories and other non-commercial repositories, provided that appropriate acknowledgment of publication in this journal is included.
- Published version (Version of Record): Authors may archive the final published PDF on personal websites, institutional repositories, and academic social networking platforms, provided that full bibliographic information and a link to the journal’s official website are included.
Accessibility of archived content
All archived articles remain openly accessible through the journal website and participating digital preservation systems. The journal is committed to maintaining permanent access to all published scholarly content without time limitations.
Long-term availability
In the event that the journal ceases publication, the publisher will ensure that all previously published content remains permanently accessible through digital preservation systems, institutional repositories, or other archival mechanisms.
