Digital Banking, Financial Literacy, and Continuing Education: A Systematic Review of the Literature and Recent Research Trends
Keywords:
Digital Banking, Financial Literacy, Continuing Education, Financial Inclusion, Systematic Literature ReviewAbstract
The transformation of information technology has driven fundamental changes in the global financial order, including in Indonesia. Digital banking no longer functions solely as a transaction tool but has evolved into a complex financial ecosystem that demands specific financial literacy competencies from its users. This study aims to analyze current research trends related to digital banking, financial literacy, and continuing education through a systematic literature review approach. By reviewing published literature from 2020 to 2026, this study found a significant disparity between high digital banking penetration and low levels of financial literacy, particularly among vulnerable groups such as women, the elderly, and rural communities. The analysis also shows that digital technology-based financial education is more effective than conventional methods in improving understanding and responsible financial behavior. This study provides a conceptual contribution to the development of financial inclusion policies and the design of financial education programs that are adaptive to the digital ecosystem.
